Christmas day and all's (possibly) well...

...snow, snow, go away...come again another day - preferably after the 28th!...

sunny 2 °C

...well, it snowed during the night of the 23/24 and I woke up to a winter wonderland which, under normal circumstances, I would have found positively lovely...however, with only a few days to blast-off I found it intensely irritating instead...the horror stories from Heathrow where thousands were stranded and the latest report from Charles de Gaulle airport where many put together an impromptu christmas day (father christmas even put in a special appearance for the little ones, now how cool is that!), have made the last few days quite stressful...but, ZEN...all will be what it will be...I just wish I didn't have to worry about a client's swimming pool which has decided to spring a leak and needs sorting out before I can leave with a clear conscience...ah me, these things are sent to try us - and they surely do!!!...

...anyway, the next entry on this blog will be from somewhere other than here...I am almost 'on the road again'...not long now...merry christmas to all and a very happy new year...

Still very cold here in the mornings...

...fingers crossed it doesn't snow again!...

semi-overcast 14 °C

...here we are with just nine days to blast off from Monpazier...now decided to go on the 27th just in case there are problems en route...probably a wise precaustion...also, we shall be able to leave the car with my friend Gabriel in a nice heated garage, safely under lock and key...one less thing to worry about...then onto a train and schlepp across Paris to the airport for an uncomfortable night on the floor!...at least we will be in time for the airplane that way...

...be so good to get away from this interminable cold weather and share in some of the 30' C over in Mumbai...looking forward to meeting with my 'e' friend Arif, whose wife is just about to have their first baby, way to go Arif...

...well, back to worrying about what I am going to forget to take with me that I absolutely won't be able to live without...

Seriously cold weather...!

...time to fly away...

sunny -2 °C

...well, it's decidedly cold here now and I can't wait to get on the 'plane and head for the sub-continent!...there's a bitter wind blowing through the streets of Monpazier, keeping people indoors despite the valiantly shining sun and blue, blue sky...let's hope conditions improve and that we don't get snowed in like we did last year around about this time...

4 weeks to take-off

...time for a change...

rain 2 °C

...in four weeks time my friends and I will climb into the car and thrash our way up to Paris where we shall board a 'plane for far, far away!...first, we have to find somewhere safe to leave the car so that we aren't bankrupted by the outrageous airport parking fees!...I've been checking out couchsurfing opportunities (just found a another cs type thing called hospitalityclub.org) in Hyderabad but as the hotels are so cheap we may just stick with one of those...not that I wouldn't like to meet people once we are there so I may contact a few beforehand...

...the weather here in France has turned to absolute sh*te!...freezing rain is now causing total havoc amongst the natives...and we have something else to worry about: will we be able to get to Paris on the 28th and will the 'plane be able to take off?...

...ah well, not much we can do about the weather and for anyone who's interested it's 2'C here today and 34'C in Mumbai...sounds a bit too hot to me, hope it cools down before we get there!!!...

...that's all for now, folks...back to watching the water fall out of the sky - well, can't do much else in these conditions!...a bientot
